Commissioning Portraits & Pet / Animal Portraits

Commissioning a piece of work from me is very straight forward. The very first thing to do is contact me via my contacts page, by the contact form, or email address, or if you would like to telephone me I would be more than happy to hear from you.

[ Photograph of a pet portrait in progress ]What you will need to do then is to send me by post or email some nice clear, up close photographs that I can work from (all photos by post will be returned guaranteed). I will contact you as soon as I have received your photographs to discuss if they are suitable and which ones are your favourites and if you have a preference for colour scheme etc. I will contact you either by email or telephone, whichever you prefer. Please do let me know if you'd rather I didn't phone, as a lot of portraits are for presents for partners and I wouldn't want to give the game away!!!

We can also discuss when you would like the portrait done by as my waiting list varies depending on workload.

Any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Photographs

It is important to have good clear, up close photographs to work from. The better the photos - the better the portrait. (see photography tips page)

I like to see as many photos as possible. This helps me see the character of the subject and colouring.

You can send your photos by post or if you are sending digital images, I would need high resolution images on a CD. You can also send images by email, however these images are usually not as clear and the colouring changes slightly.

"Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together."
John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)
